Director Andrew Niccol revealed the production actually bought 3,000 real SA vz. 58 rifles from a Czech arms dealer… because it was cheaper than using props 💸

Each one cost around $200, and since they were fully functional, the crew had to track every single weapon on set to make sure none disappeared 👀

After filming, they sold them back (at a loss), with Niccol joking he’d be a terrible arms dealer 😂
