‎It Cannot Happen When I Was Governor, We Would Confront The President – Rotimi Amaechi
‎
‎According to a recent video by ESET TV on YouTube , Former Governor of Rivers State and ex-Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, has taken a swipe at President Bola Tinubu, stating that the current political complacency in Nigeria could never have happened under his leadership as governor.
‎
‎Speaking during a public event attended by prominent politicians, Amaechi recalled his radical stance while serving as Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum. He recounted how he once clashed with Tinubu over party alignment and how they collectively opposed former President Goodluck Jonathan.
‎
‎"We were radicals. We would confront the President. What is happening now couldn’t have happened when we were Governors,” Amaechi declared. He also narrated how Tinubu once told him he was too radical to lead the Forum, but later supported his emergence as chairman for a second term"
