The Executive Director, Planning, Research and Statistics at Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC), Efele Eyewuoma Nicholas, has empowered 100 members of his political constituency with ₦50,000 each during an initiative titled “Empowering Our People for More Followership.”Geographic Reference

 

The empowerment programme held on March 14, 2026, at the residence of former DESOPADEC Chairman Michael Diden, popularly known as Ejele, in Koko, Delta State.

 

Speaking at the event, Pst. Eyewuoma stressed the need to strengthen party structures by empowering members at the grassroots level.

He said the initiative was designed to promote active participation and loyalty among party faithful.

 

He advised beneficiaries to make good use of the funds and encouraged well-to-do members of the party to support others who are financially disadvantaged.

 

Pst. Eyewuoma also urged party members to continue supporting Bola Ahmed Tinubu, President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and Sheriff Oborevwori, Governor of Delta State, ahead of the 2027 general elections.

 

 

Beneficiaries drawn from the Itsekiri, Ijaw and Isoko nations that make up Delta South Senatorial District received the financial support in the presence of party leaders, grassroots members and political stakeholders.

 

Former DESOPADEC Chairman, Hon. Michael Diden, described the programme as an appreciation gesture by Pst. Eyewuoma to party leaders and supporters who contributed to his political emergence.

 

He commended the initiative and used the opportunity to formally present himself as a candidate for the Delta South Senatorial seat in the National Assembly in 2027.

 

Chairman of the occasion, Hon. Omatseye Akatakpo, a former APC chairman in Warri North, praised the initiative, describing it as a laudable effort to strengthen grassroots participation within the party.

 

Several party leaders also applauded the empowerment programme, describing it as a selfless effort aimed at supporting loyal members.

 

Among dignitaries present at the event were the Chairman of Warri North Local Government Area, Hon. Festus Ani Ashima, and other prominent All Progressives Congress (APC) members from across Delta South.
