The Chairman of Isoko North Local Government Area, Prince Godwin Ogorugba, has said that no festival will be allowed to take place anywhere in Delta State without proper government clearance.

Speaking on the program Inside D Mata on EPI III, Ogorugba explained that the directive followed recent developments surrounding a festival in Ozoro that sparked widespread concern.

He stated that the government has now made it clear that organizers must obtain approval before holding any festival or large public gathering in the state.

According to him, the measure is aimed at ensuring proper security coordination and preventing incidents that could endanger residents, especially young people attending such events.

Ogorugba added that local authorities will work closely with community leaders and security agencies to monitor festival activities and ensure that events are properly regulated.

The chairman emphasized that while cultural celebrations remain important to communities across Delta State, safety and order must be prioritized to avoid a repeat of recent incidents.
