Delta State is ramping up efforts to improve electricity supply by optimizing existing power assets, with a focus on the Okpai Independent Power Plant in Ndokwa East.
The Commissioner for Energy, Engr. Michael Anoka, led an inspection visit to the facility, underscoring the State Government’s commitment to ensuring that assets like Okpai deliver maximum value. The plant currently generates about 480 megawatts, with an additional 450 megawatts underway in its second phase.
He said the State Government is prioritising the effective utilisation of existing power infrastructure to support economic activities, enhance industrial growth, and improve electricity supply across the state.
