Cryptocurrency entrepreneur Linus Williams, popularly known as Blord, remained behind bars at the Kuje Correctional Centre in Abuja on Friday despite being granted bail by a Federal High Court, after a logistical setback prevented him from meeting one of the key conditions attached to his release.

Blord was granted bail on April 17, 2026, on self-recognizance terms — meaning no financial surety was required — but was ordered to deposit his international passport as a condition of his release. According to social media critic VeryDarkMan, who disclosed the development online, the passport could not be retrieved from Anambra State in time to satisfy the court’s requirement, forcing Blord’s return to the correctional facility.

“They tried everything they could, but his passport could not come from Anambra on time,” VeryDarkMan stated.

Blord had originally been arrested and remanded at Kuje prison on April 1, 2026, following his arraignment before the Federal High Court in Abuja on charges of impersonating VeryDarkMan. He was accused of forging documents — including flight tickets — and falsely representing that VeryDarkMan was involved in his business operations.

Human rights activist and former presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore, who was present in court during the bail proceedings, confirmed the ruling and expressed cautious optimism about the outcome, even as controversy continues to surround the circumstances of Blord’s detention, with allegations of police misconduct and abuse of process forming a backdrop to the legal battle.

Blord is expected to appear in court for trial proceedings once his bail conditions are fully met.
