Ex-Nigeria international Michael Eneramo has passed away after slumping during a football match in Kaduna.

Eneramo was brought on as a second-half substitute and collapsed on the pitch without any contact with another player.

The late striker had a decorated club career, featuring for Turkish side Besiktas, Tunisian champions Esperance, and NPFL club Lobi Stars of Makurdi.

In 2008, Eneramo weighed taking Tunisian citizenship to play for the North African country’s national team. He eventually got his Super Eagles call-up in 2009, debuting for Nigeria on February 11, 2009.

He scored his first goal for the Super Eagles in his second appearance, netting the opener against the Republic of Ireland.
