Zamfara State Governor Dauda Lawal on Thursday met with President Bola Tinubu at the State House to brief him on the state’s security challenges, economy, and political developments.


According to a statement by the governor’s spokesperson, Sulaiman Idris, Lawal updated the president on ongoing efforts to tackle banditry and restore stability across the state.


In response, President Tinubu reaffirmed the federal government’s commitment to increasing troop presence and support for Zamfara, stressing that restoring peace in the state remains a priority.


The meeting is the latest in a series of engagements between the presidency and state leaders aimed at addressing insecurity in the North-West.
