One Dead, One Missing After Elephant Attack in Oyo Community

One person has been confirmed dead and another declared missing following an elephant attack in a community in Oyo State.

The incident occurred on Wednesday when the elephants strayed into the area, causing panic among residents. 

Eyewitnesses said the animals charged at locals, leading to the death of one person while another could not be accounted for after the attack.

Authorities have been notified, and a search operation is underway to locate the missing person. 

Wildlife officials are also expected to assess the situation and take steps to prevent further human-wildlife conflict in the area.

Residents have called on the government to intervene and address the recurring invasion of wild animals into farmlands and communities.
