“Nollywood Plagued By Saboteurs” – Jim Iyke

Veteran actor Jim Iyke has blamed internal sabotage for the persistent challenges facing Nigeria’s film industry, describing the situation as a major setback to its growth.

Speaking during an interview with BBC, the Nollywood star alleged that the industry is riddled with individuals who undermine its progress. He noted that if given the opportunity to effect change, his priority would be to eliminate such elements.

According to him, the presence of these “saboteurs” has become deeply rooted, adding that many of them require personal reflection and intervention.

Reflecting on his career, the actor revealed that one of his most emotional moments came from a personal source rather than professional accolades. He recounted how his son once praised his acting skills, describing him as a “genius,” a compliment that moved him to tears.

Iyke also highlighted his admiration for fellow actress Kate Henshaw, naming her as his preferred colleague to work with on set.
