Stanley Osifo, a former presidential aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has purchased the N100 million presidential nomination form of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Â
The 50-year-old entrepreneur is so far the only aspirant who wants to contest the ruling party’s ticket against President Bola Tinubu.
Â
On Monday, Osifo unveiled his ambition under the campaign theme “Metamorphosis 2027″, promising to tackle Nigeria’s economic challenges through a focus on security and fiscal discipline.
Â
Speaking at a press conference in Abuja on Tuesday, Osifo described himself as a patriotic Nigerian with a vision to position the country among the world’s leading economies.
Â
He said his ambition is anchored on integrity and a solid understanding of global economic recovery models and that economic stability and security are central to national development.
Â
Osifo said his policy priorities would focus on key sectors, including the economy, security, healthcare, water resources and regional integration.
Â
The aspirant had dismissed claims that his ambition is being backed by political sponsors, insisting he is funding his campaign independently.
Â
In 2019, Stanley defected to the APC barely 48 hours before the presidential election after what he described as “deep thought and consultation†with his supporters.
Â
The politician had earlier purchased the PDP’s interest form but said he was denied participation in the party’s primary despite meeting the requirements.
Â
According to him, he changed his mind about being in the PDP and would encourage his supporters to vote for the re-election of then-President Muhammadu Buhari.
