Businessman and philanthropist Olakunle Churchill has attributed the reported breakdown of his relationship with actress Rosy Meurer to sustained pressure from social media narratives.

Speaking hours after asserting that there was no legal basis for a dissolution of their union—on the grounds that they were never formally married—Churchill expanded on the factors he believes strained the relationship.

He dismissed claims that Meurer played a pivotal role during his highly publicised fallout with ex-wife, actress Tonto Dikeh, arguing that such support was not unique. According to him, anyone in her position could have acted similarly.

Addressing long-standing allegations surrounding the origins of their relationship, Churchill rejected suggestions that Meurer had been friends with Dikeh or had “snatched” another woman’s husband. He described the claims as products of online speculation rather than verifiable facts.

“From the beginning, the dominant narrative online was that she took someone else’s partner and was friends with that person. That is not accurate,” he said. “She was never friends with Tonto, and Tonto herself never made such a claim before I met Rosy.”

Churchill maintained that the persistence of these narratives created significant emotional strain, particularly for Meurer, and contributed to tensions within the relationship.

Despite the situation, he said his priority remains addressing outstanding issues and fostering unity among his children, with a focus on maintaining strong family connections.
