Senior Pastor and General Overseer of Johnson Suleman’s Omega Fire Ministries International has called on President Bola Tinubu to take decisive action against the country’s worsening insecurity, warning that leadership changes may be necessary if the crisis remains unresolved.

Speaking during a church service, the cleric expressed concern over the persistent security challenges facing Nigeria and argued that the individuals financing and supporting terrorist activities remain the country’s biggest threat.

According to Suleman, security efforts should focus on identifying and prosecuting those who provide resources and backing for violent groups rather than concentrating solely on the perpetrators carrying out attacks.

He maintained that many of the young men currently involved in insurgent and terrorist activities may have been recruited years ago and have now grown into active participants in violent operations. The preacher stressed that dismantling the network of sponsors behind such groups would be a more effective strategy in addressing the problem.

Suleman stated that if the current administration is unable to confront those responsible for funding terrorism, the President should consider stepping aside to allow others to tackle the challenge.

Despite his criticism of the security situation, the cleric commended Nigeria’s security institutions, including the military, police and the Department of State Services, describing them as among the most capable security agencies globally.

Drawing from his international travels, he said the country’s security personnel possess the capacity and professionalism needed to combat insecurity, provided they receive the necessary support and are empowered to target those financing criminal and terrorist activities.

The remarks come amid growing public concern over attacks, kidnappings and other security threats affecting several parts of the country.
