In furtherance  of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Renewed Hope Agenda in the area of food sufficiency, the federal government  in collaborations  with the Bank of Agriculture, Federal Ministry of Agriculture and food Security, Japtini foods and Retails  has flagg of the distributions of fertilisers, insecticides and and other items to farmers in Adamawa. 

The initiative tagged” Small holder support and value chain programme,”  was aimed at supporting small scale farmers in the state. 

It would also boost their farming activities to enhance agricultural production in the country and guarantee food security. 

Speaking at the lunching of the programme on Thursday in Yola, the Minister of Livestock Development, Mukhtar Idi Maiha, reiterated the commitments of the federal government to boost food production in the country and provide conducive atmosphere for Nigerian farmers to carry out their farming activities without hitches . 

He called for sensitisation  of the people on  the initiate, which he described as very crucial and impactful to the country’s agricultural sector. 

 He urged the people of Adamawa to embrace the programme, saying it would go a along way to assist them and boost their farming activities and guarantee food sufficiency in the country.

The minister further identified  availability of  long term loan to farmers and training of farmers on  modern agricultural practices as catalyst  for agricultural development of any society. 

According to him, so many achievements have been recorded in the area of agriculture and livestock development in both the state and in the country, adding that very soon the Federal Government would come out with new programmes and initiatives that would also supports herders, noting that the state  being an agricultural state with large population of herders and farmers would benefit from the initiative. 

On his part, the Lamido of Adamawa Dr. Muhammadu Barkindo Aliyu Mustapha, represented by the District head of Jimeta, thanked the Federal Government, the Bank of Agriculture for the timely intervention, noting that it would add value to farming activities in the state.
