Men of Nigeria Police Force and and Nigeria Civil Defence and Security Corps (NCDSC) tightened up security at the venue of stakeholders’ meeting organised by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for Osun state governorship.
This followed unruly behaviour by supporters of the the Acord Party and the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The issue arose when a representative of Osun state governor, Ademola Adeleke rose to make contributions on behalf of the governor, but APC supporters would not allow to him speak.
He, therefore, opted to send the position of the party in writing to the INEC Chairman.
And as the situation escalated, police officers and NCDSC personnel ring round the high table. The Accord members later walked out of the meeting.
Spokesperson of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), accused Osun State Commissioner of Police Gotan Ibrahim of failure to provide security to the the state.
