Io9 2025 Spoiler warningNaughty

Deadline reports Jennifer Aniston and Peter Dinklage will star in Naughty, a “holiday comedy” from director Olivia Wilde. The story follows Mallory (Aniston), “whose only hope of securing custody of her son from her gaslighting trash-bag ex is to find Santa Claus (Dinklage) and convince him to testify at her divorce hearing. The film feels like a perfect follow-up project for Wilde, who just showcased her skills as a comedy director with The Invite, one of the best-reviewed films of the year.”

Another poster for Fall 2: Deadpoint heralds the new trailer coming sometime later today.

Bury the Devil

Detective Agent Derek

Deadline reports Hulu is developing Detective Agent Derek, a new animated series from Nick Kreiss, Julian Bonosconi, Griffin Poole, and Spencer Rich. Described as “a prestige cop show filtered through the internet’s weirdest subcultures,” the series is said to be “structured like a serious crime drama — tackling murders, conspiracies, criminal organizations — but the lens is warped: Derek is a nunchuck-wielding, anime-obsessed neckbeard who should never be taken seriously… and yet the world treats him as an alpha savior.”

American Horror Story

During a recent interview with ET, Ryan Murphy described the thirteenth season of American Horror Story as the series’ take on the Avengers.

Everybody thinks it’s a Coven season, and it’s not. It’s all the seasons. So Sarah Paulson is playing six or seven roles. Jessica Lange is playing all four of her iconic characters. Evan Peters is playing five characters. And, of course, Kathy Bates and Emma Roberts and Billie Lourd. It is like the Avengers. They all come together to defeat the ultimate evil, so it’s very fun. And as soon as I pitched it to them—many of them had said no over the years—and they were like, ‘Well, okay, we’ve got to come back for that.” But I pitched Jessica Lange. She was like, ‘Oh, s***, now I have to do it.’ Excuse me. It’s all of them in one season. And it’s 13 episodes because it’s called 13. I spent many, many months and many years writing it. I wanted to do 13 in a special way. So it’s cool.

Star Wars: Ahsoka

Meanwhile, Ahsoka‘s Eman Esfandi told Screen Rant to expect “lots of action” in season two.

A lot of action. Fights, battles, explosions, lightsabers, lasers. I’m having a flashback. So a lot of action, and I think everybody’s gonna love it. Dave [Filoni] went nuts, and all of us were ready to follow suit of our fearless leader, and it’s gonna be a lot of fun.

Werewolf By Night, Part II

In another recent interview with Screen Rant, Michael Giacchino stated he hopes there’ll “one day” be another Werewolf By Night special at Disney+, but “everything takes forever to do.”

We’re talking about it. Everything takes forever to do. There’s a lot of planning that has to happen. Everything has to fit in a particular place at a particular time.

So, nothing moves as fast as we’d like it to. But I hope one day that you will be sitting there watching another Werewolf by Night. That’s my hope.
