The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has approved the promotion of 3,592 civil servants following the conclusion of the 2025 promotion exercise conducted by the FCT Civil Service Commission.
Chairman of the Commission, Emeka Ezeh, confirmed the development, noting that the exercise had been successfully completed. He explained that promotion examinations for senior officers were held between July 1 and July 3, while junior staff sat for theirs on July 10.
Ezeh further disclosed that the minister had directed the immediate commencement of the 2026 promotion exercise to ensure that eligible workers are advanced without unnecessary delays.
“Under this administration, it is a priority that FCT workers get promoted as and when due. This complements the tremendous infrastructural development being carried out in the Territory, and ensures that workers are not left out in the celebrations marking the third anniversary of Mr President,” Ezeh said.
He emphasized that the decision was aimed at ensuring civil servants benefit alongside the ongoing development projects in the FCT.
The commission chairman commended workers for their discipline and peaceful conduct during the 2025 exercise, urging those expected to participate in the 2026 promotion process to maintain the same level of professionalism.
