Omotayo Sanusi, known widely as Iyanaladuke, has denied a long-running claim that actresses Toyin Abraham and Funke Akindele played a role in the collapse of her marriage to Nollywood actor and filmmaker Femi Adebayo.

Sanusi issued a statement on her Instagram page on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, after a social media user known as Mama Esabod revived an old allegation in a video. The claim, also pushed by a TikTok blogger, alleged that Abraham once told Sanusi that Akindele and Adebayo were romantically involved during the filming of Jagun Jagun Part 2, and that Sanusi then confronted Akindele on set. The story further claimed the incident damaged the working relationship between the two actresses, and linked it to a widely discussed moment where Akindele appeared to ignore Abraham at Iyabo Ojo’s movie premiere in April.

Sanusi rejected the account in full.

“The allegation that actress Toyin Abraham was responsible for the problems in my marriage by allegedly informing me that another actress was with my then-partner on a movie set is completely false,” she wrote.

She also denied ever confronting or harassing anyone on a film set. “For the record, I never confronted, attacked, assaulted, or harassed any woman or man at any movie location,” she said, adding that no such incident took place.

According to Sanusi, she was present throughout the production in question and her team handled welfare for the cast and crew, catering for more than 500 people over the course of the shoot. She questioned how an alleged confrontation could have occurred on a set that large without any witness ever coming forward, and challenged anyone who believed they were attacked by her to say so directly and publicly.

A different tone on Funke Akindele

While Sanusi cleared Abraham of the specific allegation, her position on Akindele was narrower. When a follower urged her to also clear Akindele’s name, since Akindele was the one accused of assault in the story, Sanusi declined the comparison.

“I should clear her name because she was the one accused of assaulting someone? How do some of you think?” she wrote. “She should have been the one to clear my name, but no, she didn’t.”

She said the post was never meant to defend Akindele’s reputation. “This post is not about clearing anyone’s name; it’s simply about stating the truth,” she wrote.

At the same time, Sanusi described supporting the professional relationship between Adebayo and Akindele in the past, saying she knelt to show Akindele respect on set and had food prepared for her in a special cooler, despite Akindele’s alleged role in her marital troubles.

In a separate comment responding to a fan named on Instagram as @akinfalorin.t, Sanusi denied ever accusing Akindele of anything, referencing edited voice notes that had circulated online as false proof against her.

Sanusi also criticised what she called a double standard among followers. “It’s amazing how some people have no problem sponsoring lies, promoting falsehoods, and amplifying damaging narratives about someone’s life,” she wrote. “So, it’s acceptable to spread lies, but it’s not acceptable to debunk them? Silence should never be mistaken for guilt.”

The statement drew mixed reactions. Some followers encouraged Sanusi to keep speaking on her own terms. One user, @olubukolaelesin, wrote that she should “speak as long as you want till you heal and move on.” Others accused her of prolonging the drama for attention, with one commenter, @success_omopariola_1, suggesting she was seeking “internet validation.”

Adebayo and Sanusi’s status

The statement comes weeks after Sanusi marked Femi Adebayo’s birthday with an affectionate post, which followed a series of throwback photos she shared of the two together.

Iyanaladuke had earlier accused a woman of causing the breakdown of her marriage, a claim that was later disputed, with reports indicating the woman was not the one controlling her phone at the time of the alleged messages.

A member of Adebayo’s family, Taiwo Abdulmalik, had also previously addressed claims that the actor abandoned Sanusi after she was evicted from a property in Lagos. Abdulmalik said the property was lost to a bank foreclosure after repayment issues, and that Adebayo relocated Sanusi and her family to a short-let apartment, covering the costs while she searched for a new home. Abdulmalik added that Adebayo bought land in Sanusi’s name in 2022 and spent about $50,000 on medical treatment for their son in India.

Iyanaladuke has not commented publicly on those family details, having previously described the matter as private.
