Editor-in-Chief of The Industry Newspaper, Goddie Ofose, said this year’s honourees distinguished themselves by expanding investments, strengthening local production, improving access to financial services and embracing innovation despite economic headwinds. He noted that the companies demonstrated that long-term growth is driven not only by profitability but also by strategic investments in people, technology and sustainable business practices.

The publication highlighted several industry trends shaping the 2026 rankings, including deeper financial inclusion through digital banking and agent networks, increased investments in local manufacturing and energy infrastructure, stronger consumer-focused innovation, greater emphasis on storytelling and the creative economy, expanded employment opportunities and broader adoption of environmental, social and governance (ESG) initiatives.

Collectively, the companies recognised in the 2026 edition are estimated to have created or sustained more than 500,000 direct and indirect jobs over the past year while contributing significantly to Nigeria’s economic development and business competitiveness.
