Transactions on the floor of Nigerian Exchange NGX on Friday declined by N13 billion.
The market capitalisation of listed equities depreciated marginally by 0.01 per cent from N158.339 trillion to N158.326 trillion, as recorded the previous week.
The NGX All Share Index also declined by 78.58 basis points to 245283.68 points from 246362.26 points recorded the previous day.
The market breadth was positive with 33 gainers against 29 decliners, bringing year to date return to 57.62 per cent.
An analysis of the transaction showed that Eterna Plc, Conhall Plc, and Regal Insurance led the gainers’ table with 10 per cent each on Friday to close at N33.00, N8.36 and N0.88 per unit, respectively.
Mcnichols followed with a gain of 9.52 per cent to close at N5.57 per unit, FirstHoldco added 8.38 per cent to close at N130.00 per unit.
On the contrary, FTG Insurance topped the losers’ chart with 10 per cent to close at N2.34 per share; Veritas Kapital trailed with a loss of 9.49 per cent to close at N1.34 per share; Vitafoam Nigeria Plc declined by 7.70 per cent to close at N179.80 per unit; Nahco Plc depreciated by 6.63 per cent to close at N155.00 per unit.
Further analysis indicated that the volume of trades declined 1.159 billion, representing 55.14 per cent as investors traded 942.970 million shares against 2.102 billion traded on Thursday; the value of shares traded went down by 79.75 per cent to settle at N46.740 billion.
Transactions in the shares of Ava Capital led market activities with 340.406 million shares valued at N2.621 billion; Chams Plc followed with account of 45.796 million shares cost N192.588 million; Sterling Bank traded 37.052 million shares worth N296.035 million; TIP Plc exchanged 32.409 million shares worth N892.805 million; Jaiz Bank traded 30.158 million shares cost N269.504 million.
