The Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone 13 Headquarters Ukpo, AIG Miller Dantawaye, has held a maiden meeting with officers and men of the Zone following his assumption of duty as the 10th AIG, Zone 13.

Zone 13 Headquarters, Ukpo, ASP Chidera Oha, in a press statement, said the interactive session, which took place at the premises of the Zone 13 Headquarters Ukpo, provided the opportunity for AIG Dantawaye to formally introduce himself to personnel and outline his vision and strategic priorities for the Zone.

In his address, AIG Dantawaye expressed appreciation to the Inspector-General of Police for the confidence reposed in him and commended the officers and men of the Zone for their dedication and sacrifices in safeguarding lives and property. He urged them to remain steadfast, disciplined, and professional in the discharge of their constitutional responsibilities.

The AIG emphasized that professionalism, integrity, accountability, intelligence-led policing, and respect for the rule of law would remain the guiding principles of his administration. He charged officers to uphold the highest standards of conduct, respect the fundamental rights of citizens, and remain courteous in their interactions with members of the public.

He further called for greater commitment to intelligence gathering, proactive policing, effective supervision, and teamwork in tackling crimes such as kidnapping, armed robbery, cultism, cybercrime, and other emerging security threats within the Zone.

Speaking on community engagement, AIG Dantawaye stressed the importance of strengthening partnerships with traditional rulers, religious leaders, youth groups, community-based organizations, and other stakeholders, noting that sustainable security can only be achieved through effective collaboration between the Police and the public.

The Assistant Inspector General of Police also assured officers and men under his command of an open-door leadership style, founded on fairness, transparency, mutual respect, and accountability. He encouraged personnel to remain committed to continuous learning, operational excellence, and the core values of the Nigeria Police Force.

The meeting concluded with an interactive session during which officers expressed their commitment to supporting the AIG’s vision and working collectively to enhance security and improve policing services across Anambra and Enugu states which comprise Zone 13.
