As prediction markets gain global recognition as tools for forecasting trends across business, politics, technology and sports, Busha today announced the launch of Signal by Busha, a prediction market licensed by the Lagos State Lottery and Gaming Authority.

Available immediately as a web platform, Signal by Busha is accessible to existing Busha users using their current Busha accounts. New users can get started by creating a Busha account before connecting it to Signal.

Users fund their Signal wallets directly from their Busha wallets using supported balances, including Naira, stablecoins, and other cryptocurrencies available within the Busha app.

At launch, users can trade in markets across sports, crypto, culture, politics, economics, and trending topics, with additional categories expected over time. Rather than simply placing one-off predictions, users can buy and sell positions throughout the life of a market, allowing them to adjust their exposure as new information becomes available. Markets are settled using official event sources wherever available, while an internal resolution team determines outcomes for markets that do not have a single authoritative source, operating strictly in accordance with Busha’s publicly available, transparent market resolution policies and consumer protection guidelines. Once a market is resolved, eligible payouts are automatically credited to users’ Signal wallets, and funds can be withdrawn to their Busha wallets.

Globally, prediction markets are gaining recognition as a complementary forecasting tool for businesses, researchers, analysts, and policymakers. Unlike opinion polls, which capture sentiment at a single point in time, or sentiment analysis, which reflects how people feel, prediction markets aggregate what participants are willing to back with conviction. As trading activity evolves, market prices continuously update to reflect changing expectations, creating a real-time signal that can sit alongside traditional research and forecasting methods.

Markets have always been powerful information systems,” said Olaoluwa Samuel-Biyi, co-founder of Busha. “When people put their conviction behind a prediction, they collectively generate valuable signals about where they believe the future is headed. Signal by Busha is designed to surface those insights in real time, giving individuals, businesses, and researchers a new lens for understanding markets and emerging trends. We believe prediction markets will become an increasingly important complement to traditional research, and we want African users to participate in that evolution through a trusted, regulated platform.

For Busha, the launch represents another step in the company’s evolution from a digital asset platform to a broader technology company that builds products at the intersection of finance, information, and emerging technology.

From inception, our vision has been to build technology that gives Africans access to the financial tools shaping the future,” said Michael Adeyeri, co-founder and CEO of Busha. “We started by making digital assets more accessible. Today, we are building products across savings, payments, global money movement, and now prediction markets. Signal by Busha reflects our belief that technology can do more than help people transact, it can also help them make better-informed decisions by harnessing collective intelligence in real time. By expanding beyond saving, investing, and digital assets into forecasting and market predictions, we are continuing to redefine what a modern African financial technology company can build.

The launch builds on a period of rapid product expansion for Busha. Over the past six months, the company introduced Busha 3.0, a redesigned all-in-one money app with high-yield savings products, expanded into enterprise financial infrastructure through Busha Business, enabling stablecoin-powered cross-border payments for businesses, and is soon to launch stablecoin-backed virtual Visa cards that allow users to spend directly from their digital asset and fiat balances.

With Signal by Busha, the company is extending its innovation portfolio beyond financial services into technology-powered forecasting and market intelligence. The launch reinforces the company’s commitment to building innovative technologies that help Africans make smarter decisions, move money more efficiently, and engage with the future through trusted, regulated products.
