Football fans across Sub-Saharan Africa will continue to enjoy live coverage of Europe’s elite club competitions after CANAL+ secured the exclusive broadcast rights to all UEFA men’s club tournaments through 2031, ensuring uninterrupted access to matches on SuperSport, DStv and GOtv.

The new four-season agreement, which takes effect from the 2027/28 season, grants CANAL+ exclusive rights to broadcast the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League and UEFA Conference League across more than 40 countries in Sub-Saharan Africa.

The deal guarantees that SuperSport will remain the exclusive home of UEFA club football in English- and Portuguese-speaking African markets, while restoring comprehensive Champions League coverage on CANAL+ Sport channels in French-speaking countries alongside the Europa League and Conference League.

The latest acquisition further strengthens CANAL+’s position as one of Africa’s leading sports broadcasters. Its portfolio already includes premium football properties such as the English Premier League, LALIGA EA SPORTS, Ligue 1, the Betway Premiership, and the ongoing TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2026.

CANAL+ Chief Executive Officer Maxime Saada described the agreement as a major milestone for the company and its subscribers across the continent.

Saada also expressed appreciation to UEFA’s commercial partners, UC3 and Relevent, for extending their partnership with CANAL+ following similar rights agreements covering France, Switzerland, Belgium, Poland and Austria.

The agreement reinforces CANAL+’s long-term investment in premium sports content and ensures football supporters across the region will continue to follow Europe’s biggest clubs and stars on familiar platforms.
