The Federal High Court, Lagos Judicial Division, Tuesday, commenced the relocation of six courts and some administrative offices from its current premises at No. 24 Oyinkan Abayomi Drive, Ikoyi, to its newly completed complex at No. 1B Bourdillon Road, Ikoyi, Lagos.


The long-awaited movement to the new complex commenced on July 31, 2026, with the relocation being carried out in batches.


The first batch comprises Vacation Courts 7 and 12, as well as Courts 2, 3, 4 and 5. Also affected are the offices of the Chief Registrar, Deputy Chief Registrars and the Electronic Litigation Registrar of Process (ELRP).


The Vacation Courts, which have already commenced sitting at the new complex, are presided over by Honourable Justices Akintayo Aluko and Nkemakonam Ogazi in Courts 7 and 12 respectively.


Honourable Justices Ayokunle Faji, Ambrose Lewis Allagoa, Chukwujekwu Aneke and Yellim S. Bogoro are expected to commence sitting in Courts 2, 3, 4 and 5 respectively when regular court proceedings resume on September 11, 2026, after the annual vacation.


A notice of relocation dated August 4, 2026, and signed by Yahaya Yakubu Shafa, FCIArb., Chief Registrar of the Federal High Court, informed the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), litigants, other stakeholders, the Lagos state government and the general public of the movement.
