The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has constituted a seven-member National Reconciliation Committee to address disagreements arising from its recently concluded primary elections and restore unity within the party.
The news of the reconciliation was contained in a statement jointly signed by the party’s national chairman, Senator Cleopas Moses, and national secretary, Ikenna Enekweizu.
The committee is chaired by political economist, Professor Pat Utomi, with Alhaji Buba Galadima, serving as co-chairman.
Other members of the committee were Mohammed Takori, Babatunde Alli, Mrs. Dudu Manuga, Salvador Moshood and Alhaji Haruna Pai.
The party also announced the establishment of three zonal reconciliation subcommittees for the North, South-south and South-east.
The statement said the subcommittees will work alongside the national committee by engaging aggrieved stakeholders, resolving disputes that emerged from the primaries and fostering greater cohesion across the party.
