The statement read, “Acting on credible and actionable intelligence, operatives of the Violent Crime Response Unit, Aba North, apprehended Nnamdi Lazarus, currently residing in Uratta Aba, Abia State.
“The suspect was found harbouring and keeping the children.”
All the six rescued children, the statement said, have been safely reunited with their families, while investigation is ongoing to apprehend other members of the child trafficking syndicate.
The suspect, the police said, will be charged to court upon conclusion of investigations.
The command used the opportunity to reiterate its commitment to the protection of lives and property through intelligence-led policing.
