It was a solemn yet dignified gathering of political leaders, captains of industry, family members and close associates as Mrs. Nkechi Rhodes-Vivour, the beloved mother of Lagos politician and former governorship candidate of the Labour Party, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour (GRV), was laid to rest in Lagos.

The funeral service, held at the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Fountain of Life Sanctuary, Ikeja, drew an array of eminent Nigerians who came to identify with the Rhodes-Vivour family and celebrate the life of the departed matriarch.

Among the notable personalities in attendance were former Minister of Transportation, Rt. Hon. Rotimi Amaechi, and the Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, whose presence underscored the respect and goodwill enjoyed by the Rhodes-Vivour family across political and social divides.

The service was marked by heartfelt worship, prayers and moving tributes as officiating ministers urged mourners to embrace the Christian virtues exemplified by the deceased and to remain steadfast in faith.
