Hunter Biden has disclosed that his father, former U.S. President Joe Biden, is facing a worsening battle with cancer, which has now spread to his bones.
In an interview published by the BBC on Saturday, Hunter described the illness as “painful and debilitating,” adding that it has been difficult for the family to witness.
“I wish he would complain more, because it’s not good, the cancer has spread,” he said.Joe Biden, who announced in May 2025 that he had been diagnosed with aggressive prostate cancer, had previously expressed optimism about his treatment.
He told supporters last month that therapy was “going really well” and thanked them for their prayers and encouragement.Despite his health challenges, Hunter emphasized his father’s central role in the family: “My dad is, to this day, the centre of our family. He’s the best father, the best husband, the best grandfather.”
Biden stepped away from the 2024 presidential race, paving the way for Vice President Kamala Harris to become the Democratic nominee.
His memoir, Promise Me, America, is scheduled for release in November.
