Popular Nigerian skit maker and actor Samuel Perry, better known as Broda Shaggi, has spoken publicly for the first time in months after staying away from the public scene.

The comedian has kept a low profile in recent months and has not been attending shows, events or other social gatherings.

In a heartfelt message shared on his WhatsApp channel on Friday, Shaggi thanked his fans for standing by him during his long absence.

He said he appreciated those who continued to check on him, show him love and support him despite his silence.

“To everyone who’s still here… waiting, checking in, showing love, and holding me down even through the silence, thank you. I don’t think y’all truly understand how much that means to me.

“Even when I haven’t been able to show up the way I wanted to, knowing that y’all are still here has meant more than I can put into words,” he wrote.

Shaggi did not explain why he has been away from the public, saying he was not yet ready to reveal the full details.

However, he assured his fans that he would speak about it when the time was right.

He also expressed hope that he would return to the entertainment scene soon.
“I wish I could tell y’all everything right now… but I can’t. Not yet.

Just know I haven’t forgotten about you, and I haven’t stopped thinking about the day I can finally come back and really be ME with y’all again.

“I’m hoping that day comes soon,” he said.

The skit maker promised that his return would be stronger and better.
“And when it does, I promise I’m coming back better, stronger, and ready to make up for all this lost time.

“I LOOOOOOOOR Y’ALL SOOOO MUCH. Thank you for staying. Thank you for being patient with me. Thank you for still being here,” he added.

Shaggi’s message comes months after reports of an alleged shooting involving him raised concerns among his fans and led to widespread speculation about his wellbeing.

Police had earlier said there was no evidence that the comedian was shot anywhere in Ogun State.
