Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, on Saturday said the economic policies of President Bola Tinubu’s administration had increased the funds available for development across the country.

Sule stated this when he received the Presidential Media Team/Renewed Hope Ambassadors (PMT/RHA), led by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, at the Government House in Lafia.

The team is in Nasarawa State to inspect federal and state government projects being executed across the state.

The governor cited Nasarawa as an example, saying the state had been able to execute projects worth over N90 billion as a result of increased revenue from the Federation Account.

According to him, the projects were executed without the state government obtaining loans from banks.

Sule commended President Tinubu for what he described as bold economic decisions, particularly the removal of fuel subsidy and the liberalisation of the foreign exchange market.

“We were getting N4.5 billion as monthly allocation from the Federation Account until President Tinubu boldly removed fuel subsidy and introduced other economic reforms.

“Following the removal of fuel subsidy, we now receive between N14 billion and N16 billion monthly.

“As a result of the increased funding, we have been able to carry out many projects in education, health and agriculture to add value to the lives of our people.

“All the projects we are doing in Nasarawa today are fully funded by the funds we receive, and we have to give President Tinubu due credit.

“I use the money to execute projects in education, which is key to me. I have built skills acquisition centres to teach people skills that will enable them to earn a living and live better.

“I have also established a post-retirement skills acquisition scheme so that retirees can acquire skills to support themselves after retirement,” the governor said.

Sule also attributed the operations of two lithium production plants in the state to what he described as the favourable economic policies of the Tinubu administration.

“The two lithium production plants we have in the state are working because of the good policies of the Tinubu government, which have created a conducive environment for industrialisation to thrive in Nasarawa and Nigeria,” he said.

Onanuga, who led the presidential media team to the Government House, said Nigerians were beginning to reap the benefits of the difficult decisions taken by President Tinubu since assuming office in 2023.

“Democracy in the past three years has been very active and beneficial compared to previously,” Onanuga said.

The PMT/RHA is in Nasarawa State to inspect projects being executed by both the federal and state governments.

The team had earlier inspected projects in Benue State during the week.
