Former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan is expected in Bauchi State on Monday, August 10, to commission 15 completed road projects executed by the state government across Bauchi metropolis.

The commissioning is expected to highlight the administration of Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed’s continuing investment in road infrastructure and urban development.

The projects, executed through the Ministry of Works and Transport, are designed to improve connectivity, ease movement and support commercial activities across the state capital.

Contained in a press statement by the permanent secretary, Eng. Muhammad Hamisu Garba, on Saturday, said traditional rulers, community leaders and other stakeholders are expected to attend the ceremony.

The Commissioner for Works and Transport, Professor Titus Saul Ketkukah, said the projects were evidence of the government’s determination to provide infrastructure capable of supporting the socio-economic development of the state.

According to him, the administration would sustain its focus on road construction, rehabilitation and maintenance as part of its development agenda.

The Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Engr. Mohammed Hamisu Garba, said arrangements had been completed for the ceremony.

He disclosed that the event would commence at 9:00 a.m. at BRC 2, opposite the Police Training School, Bauchi.

Garba urged residents to attend the ceremony and take ownership of the projects by protecting the roads and supporting their proper maintenance.

He said the commissioning marked another step in the government’s efforts to promote urban renewal and improve the movement of people and goods within Bauchi metropolis.
