Ogun State Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun has paid a condolence visit to former Minister of Finance Kemi Adeosun following the death of her husband, Anthony Adeniyi “Niyi” Adeosun.

Niyi Adeosun, a businessman and devoted Christian, died on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, in Lagos State at the age of 62.

The governor disclosed the visit in a statement on Monday, saying he conveyed his condolences to Adeosun, her children and the entire Adeosun family.

“During the visit, we conveyed our heartfelt condolences to Mrs Adeosun, her children and the entire Adeosun family over this painful and profound loss,” Abiodun said.

He described the deceased as “a respected businessman and devoted Christian who lived a life of faith, service and commitment to his family,” adding that his passing was a great loss not only to his immediate family but also to those whose lives he touched.

Abiodun prayed for God’s comfort and strength for the bereaved family, asking Him to grant them the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

He also prayed for the repose of the deceased, saying: “May God grant Mr Anthony Adeniyi Adeosun eternal rest and may his soul rest in perfect peace. Amen.”

The Adeosun family had earlier announced Niyi’s death in a statement issued by Rev. C. A. Adeosun on behalf of the family.
