A 30-year-old man, Abdulmumini Sarki, suspected to be a member of a kidnapping gang, has been arrested by the Bauchi State Police Command.
The arrest was confirmed in a crime bulletin signed and issued by the Command’s Police Public Relations Officer, SP Nafiu Habib, and made available to journalists on Monday.
The PPRO wrote: “The Bauchi State Police Command wishes to inform the general public that on 7th August 2026, at about 2100hrs, operatives of Kirfi Divisional Police Headquarters, acting on credible intelligence, arrested one Abdulmumini Sarki, male, 30 years old, of Ziriyalo Hamlet, via Tubule Village, Kirfi LGA, Bauchi State.”
He further stated that the suspect “was previously declared at large in connection with a case of criminal conspiracy and kidnapping.”

During the operation, the following exhibits were recovered from him: one Boxer motorcycle with registration number GME 224WW, engine number 34043X and chassis number 62032, as well as one Itel keypad phone containing Glo and MTN SIM cards.
The suspect is in custody, while the case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Bauchi, for further investigation.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu, reiterated the Command’s commitment to ensuring the safety of lives and property.
