Women have taken to the streets in Osun State to protest the rising cases of killings and pre-election violence ahead of the 2026 governorship election.

The protesters marched to the Osun State Police Command headquarters, where they submitted a petition calling for urgent action to address the violence and protect residents.

Civil society organisation Yiaga Africa, which reported the protest, said the women were demanding stronger security measures to halt further violence and safeguard the electoral process.
