Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has raised the alarm over an alleged police directive to arrest leaders of the Accord Party in the state ahead of the governorship election scheduled for Saturday.

Governor Adeleke made the allegation on Tuesday evening during a press conference, claiming that a police signal had been received directing the arrest of Accord Party leaders, their transfer to Abuja, and their detention until Monday, after the election.

“We have a credible report that a police signal has arrived in Osun State, directing the arrest of Accord Party leaders, their transfer to Abuja, and detention until Monday, after the governorship election,” Adeleke said.

The governor described the alleged directive as a serious threat to the integrity of the electoral process and called for immediate attention from relevant authorities.

Adeleke also called for the arrest of Senator Francis Fadahunsi over a viral video in which the senator allegedly made comments interpreted as a call for the killing of Accord Party members.

The governor urged security agencies to investigate the video and take appropriate action if the allegations are established.

The development comes just days before the Osun State governorship election, with political parties and security agencies under heightened scrutiny over concerns about the safety of candidates, supporters and voters.
