Islam Makhachev will chase a place in MMA history when he defends the Welterweight Championship against Ian Machado Garry in the main event of UFC 330, set for the Xfinity Mobile Arena in Philadelphia on the morning of 16 August. Main card begins at 3am CAT.

Makhachev (28-1) tied for the longest winning streak in UFC history (16) when he defeated Jack Della Maddalena via unanimous decision to win the Welterweight belt at UFC 322 in November last year.

The 34-year-old, who is also a former Lightweight Champion, has vowed to humble Machado Garry (17-1), who earned his shot at the title with a unanimous decision win over former division champion Belal Muhammad in November last year.

“He acts like a bad guy,” Makhachev said. “I know he’s a humble guy, but if not, I will make him humble. I’m going to try to follow him and catch him and take him down. Guys, we will make him humble…We will make him respectful.”

The co-main event sees Mackenzie Dern (16-5) make her first defence of the Women’s Strawweight Championship when she faces Gillian Robertson (17-8).

The challenger, who has put together a five-match winning streak, believes she will dethrone Dern: “I’m a little anxious about it, but I want her to be mad at me,” Robertson said.

“I want her to come at me aggressive. It’s not like she’s going to fight me harder because of something I say, or because she’s angry. I just want her to fall into my traps.”

The rest of the main card features Mansur Abdul-Malik v Dustin Stoltzfus in the middleweight division; and a lightweight clash between Edson Barboza and Esteban Ribovics.
