African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has vowed that nothing will stop him from contesting and winning the 2027 election, declaring that he remains fit, healthy, and full of energy.
Speaking in an interview with Jaji TV Hausa, Atiku compared his political journey to that of former U.S. President Abraham Lincoln, who suffered multiple electoral defeats before eventually becoming president.
He recalled his own struggles in Adamawa State, where he contested the governorship four times but had each election annulled by military regimes, only to succeed on his fifth attempt.
“I am fit, healthy and full of energy, nothing can stop me. Long before I won a governorship election, I contested four times, and each time the military cancelled the process. It was only on my fifth attempt that I succeeded and became Vice President of Nigeria. How many times did Abraham Lincoln lose before he finally became President of the United States?” Atiku said.
