Samuel Adebanjo Oluolamide, a graduate of the Department of Aerospace Engineering at Lagos State University (LASU), has emerged as the overall best graduating student for the 2025/2026 academic session with a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 4.97.

Adebanjo was announced as the university’s best graduating student on Wednesday as LASU prepares to hold its 29th and 30th combined convocation ceremonies for graduates of the 2024/2025 and 2025/2026 academic sessions.

The university also announced Ayilara Lawal Olawale of the Department of Project Management as the overall best graduating student for the 2024/2025 academic session, with a CGPA of 4.96.

The university is scheduled to hold the combined convocation ceremonies from Wednesday, August 12, to Sunday, August 23, 2026, under the leadership of Vice Chancellor Professor Ibiyemi Ibilola Olatunji-Bello.

As part of the programme, LASU will host a convocation lecture by Honourable Abike Dabiri-Erewa, titled “From LASU to the World: Harnessing the Nigerian Diaspora as the Seventh Region for National Development.”

LASU is also expected to confer diplomas, degrees, doctorates and honorary doctorates on graduates and eminent personalities, including Alhaji Aliko Dangote.

The university advised graduates to visit www.lasu.edu.ng for detailed information on the convocation, including payment for convocation packages, gown return deadlines and other ceremony guidelines.

The Vice Chancellor congratulated the graduates, their parents and the wider university community on the occasion.
