Chicago Police 20th District juvenile male 17 and juvenile female 16 arrested August 11 2026 at 9:26 PM in the 2400 block of West Peterson Avenue and charged with armed robbery and aggravated unlawful possession of a weapon after allegedly entering a retail business at gunpoint in the 2700 block of West Peterson Avenue approximately 20 minutes earlier both face juvenile court proceedings.

Two Chicago teenagers have been charged with armed robbery after allegedly entering a retail business and taking property at gunpoint on the North Side before being caught by Chicago Police approximately 20 minutes later, according to the Chicago Police Department.

At approximately 9:06 p.m. on August 11, 2026, the two juveniles allegedly entered a retail business in the 2700 block of West Peterson Avenue in the 20th District, produced a firearm, and took property from the store at gunpoint.

Chicago Police arrested both juveniles at 9:26 p.m. in the 2400 block of West Peterson Avenue, approximately 20 minutes after the robbery and two blocks from the scene.

The Charges

The 17-year-old male faces one felony count of armed robbery with a firearm and one felony count of aggravated unlawful possession of a weapon by a person under 21.

The 16-year-old female faces one felony count of armed robbery with a firearm and one felony count of aggravated unlawful possession of a weapon by a person under 21.

Both juveniles will appear before the Cook County Juvenile Court. Under Illinois law, juvenile defendants are not publicly identified by name.

The 2700 block of West Peterson Avenue sits in the West Ridge neighborhood in the 20th District on Chicago’s North Side.
