Our paths first crossed in church in Newcastle nearly 20 years ago. Since then, I have been continually inspired and encouraged by Kayode Akinropo, a true gentleman who consistently goes out of his way to uplift others and who has proudly carried Yoruba culture from Nigeria to the wider world.

Kayode is a Nigerian-born writer, teacher, interpreter and consultant based in Newcastle-upon-Tyne. Wilderness of Chaos is his second novel (following his 2021 debut Scars Do Heal), released in February 2026 as a fictional satirical thriller.

The book offers a gripping exploration of survival, identity and the battles that rage within the human spirit. Set in a world where order has crumbled, it examines how the fragile line between civilisation and savagery erodes, forcing characters to confront what remains when comfort, certainty and control are stripped away.
