The Federal Civil Service Commission (FCSC) has commenced the online accreditation exercise for officers on Salary Grade Levels 14, 15 and 16 participating in the 2026 promotion exercise.
In a statement on Thursday, signed by the Head of Press and Public Relations, Mr. Ibraheem Zakariyya, the Commission said affected officers are expected to complete their accreditation through the designated promotion portal between August 14 and August 28, 2026.
According to the statement, the directive was issued by the Chairman of the Commission as part of efforts to ensure a transparent, orderly and timely promotion exercise.
The Commission explained that candidates would access the portal using login details to be sent to their registered email addresses and urged them to complete the process within the stipulated period.
It warned that the accreditation portal would close on August 28 and that no extension would be granted. According to the Commission, officers who fail to complete the exercise within the deadline would be required to re-present themselves for accreditation in 2027.
The FCSC also advised candidates not to wait until the closing date before carrying out the accreditation process to avoid any challenges that may arise.
The Commission further directed Permanent Secretaries, Accounting Officers and Chief Executive Officers of Ministries, Departments and Agencies to ensure that all eligible officers, including those serving within and outside their headquarters as well as those on foreign assignments, are informed of the exercise for compliance.
