Victor Osimhen celebrates
Galatasaray have reportedly reduced their asking price for Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen to €65 million amid renewed interest from Saudi Pro League giants Al Hilal.
According to Turkish outlet Haberler, citing Sky Sports, Al Hilal have contacted the Turkish champions to discuss the terms of a potential deal for the Super Eagles forward.
Osimhen recently completed a permanent transfer to Galatasaray from Napoli after a successful loan spell at the Istanbul club, where he established himself as one of the team’s key players.
Al Hilal step up interest
Haberler reports that Galatasaray are prepared to consider selling the 27-year-old if their €65 million valuation is met by an interested club.
The reported reduction in the asking price could encourage Al Hilal to intensify their efforts to sign the Nigerian international as the Saudi club looks to strengthen its attack.
However, any potential transfer would still depend on Osimhen’s willingness to move to Saudi Arabia.
Osimhen holds final say
The report indicates that the final decision would ultimately rest with Osimhen, with Al Hilal needing to convince the striker to leave Turkey and agree personal terms before a deal can be completed.
The Saudi club is reportedly considering squad changes to create room for the Nigerian, with Karim Benzema among the players who could be moved on.
Al Hilal are expected to accelerate discussions with Osimhen’s representatives in the coming days as they explore the possibility of bringing him to the Saudi Pro League.
Osimhen’s impressive Galatasaray record
Osimhen has enjoyed a highly productive spell in Turkey, scoring 59 goals in 74 appearances since joining Galatasaray.
His performances played a major role in the club’s recent success and have made him one of the most sought-after forwards in world football.
If he remains at Galatasaray, the Nigerian is expected to lead the club’s attempt to win a third successive Super Lig title.
Galatasaray face stronger title competition
Galatasaray are reportedly the favourites for the upcoming Super Lig campaign, with Sportingbet placing them at odds of 2.00.
Fenerbahce follow at 2.75, while Besiktas are priced at 7.00 and Trabzonspor at 12.00.
The competition is expected to be tougher, however, with several rivals strengthening their attacking options during the transfer window.
Trabzonspor have reportedly added Mohamed Salah to a forward line featuring Paul Onuachu, while Fenerbahce have brought in Mason Greenwood and Romelu Lukaku.
Galatasaray face major decision
A €65 million offer from Al Hilal would leave Galatasaray facing a significant decision over one of their most important players.
While the financial benefits of selling Osimhen could be substantial, his departure would weaken the club’s attack and potentially affect its ambitions in domestic and European competitions.
For now, the striker’s future remains uncertain, with Galatasaray reportedly willing to listen to offers that meet their valuation.
Any move to Al Hilal would require an agreement between the Saudi club, Galatasaray and Osimhen before the transfer could be completed.
