The Chamba Elders council (CEC), the largest ethnic group in Adamawa state, has appealed  to  President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to as a matter of urgency intervened in the case of Hon. Abdulrazak Namdas the  newly appointed Director General Border Communities Development Agency (BCDA ) who has not resumed his new office.

They made the appeal at a press conference in Yola addressed by the vice chairman of the organisation, Alh. Kashim Njidda.
They expressed concerned that six weeks after Namdas’ appointment by Tinubu; which supppssed to take effects immidiately, he has not been given his appointment letter nor allowed to resumed office.

They said while others who were appointed to other offices together with him at the same time have since assumed duties in their various agencies, he is yet to resume.

The elders further appealed to the president to direct the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Sen. George Akume to release Namdas’ appointment letter  with immidiate effect to enable him assume duty.

Njidda further noted that Namdas’ appointment  marks the first time in Adamawa history that the chamba nation  have been honoured  with a prestigious federal appointment  since late Dominic Mapeo served as minister of state for mines and power in the first republic.

According to them, Namdas has demonstrated exceptional skills in engaging with the public and in delivering excellent services  to the people in his previous assignments, especially as a two term member of the House of Representatives where he chaired House committe on media and publicity and subsequently Army as well as Governing Board member representing North East in Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) among others.

The elders added that Namdas  has contributed greatly to the successes of the party and emergence of president Tinubu, noting that Ganye chiefdom the hometown of Namdas is an APC controlled area  with strong potential to deliver substantial votes for the APC in 2027 election.
