THE Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) Nigeria Council has honoured Ebifagha Bebenimibo, a Reservoir Engineer with NNPC E&P Ltd., with the SPE Nigeria Council Chairman’s Medallion.
Bebenimibo received the medallion at the Dinner and Awards Night of the SPE Nigeria Annual International Conference and Exhibition (NAICE) 2026 in Lagos.
The medallion is conferred by the SPE Nigeria Council Chair on selected individuals in recognition of their leadership and service to the council during the board year.
Bebenimibo currently serves as the council’s Student Programs Chair, overseeing programmes involving more than 14,000 students across 51 tertiary institutions.
In the role, he led the 2026 students’ conference, which facilitated internship placements for participating students and organised field trips for more than 300 student delegates across three locations.
The programme also generated more than N8 million in savings for SPE through effective cost management.
His recognition highlights the contribution of young professionals to strengthening industry-academia collaboration and developing the next generation of oil and gas professionals.
