Bauchi State First Lady Aisha Bala Mohammed while commissioning two rehabilitated and upgraded Primary Health Care Centres (PHCs) in Bishi and Magaji Quarters in Bauchi metropolis.

Bauchi State First Lady, Hajia Aisha Bala Mohammed, has commissioned two rehabilitated and upgraded Primary Health Care Centres (PHCs) in Bishi and Magaji Quarters in Bauchi metropolis.

The projects were executed by the outgoing Executive Chairman of Bauchi Local Government Area and Deputy Governorship Candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), Hon. Mahmood Babamaji Abubakar.

The commissioning ceremonies attracted a large turnout of residents, community leaders and other stakeholders who gathered to witness the inauguration of the facilities.

Speaking during the commissioning of the Bishi PHC, Hajia Aisha Bala Mohammed said the intervention was in line with the administration’s blueprint to provide basic social services and deliver the dividends of democracy to residents.

She commended the project initiator for complementing government efforts in improving access to healthcare at the grassroots.

The Commissioner for Health, Dr Sani Mohammed Dambam, and the Executive Chairman of the Bauchi State Primary Health Care Development Board, Dr Rilwanu Mohammed, also commended the outgoing council chairman for the initiative.

They said the upgraded facilities would improve the quality and accessibility of healthcare services available to residents of the communities.

Speaking, Hon. Mahmood Babamaji Abubakar said he embarked on the projects following concerns raised by the state First Lady and other stakeholders over the condition of healthcare facilities in the areas.

The delegation later moved to Magaji Quarters, where the First Lady commissioned another upgraded PHC executed by the council chairman.

At both facilities, Hajia Aisha Bala Mohammed provided drugs for the pharmacies to support the delivery of healthcare services to residents.
