Violence erupted at the polling unit of the ADC governorship candidate, Rt. Hon. Dr Najeem Folasayo Salaam, during Saturday’s Osun governorship election.

Suspected political thugs allegedly attacked [ADC governorship candidate, Rt. Hon. Dr Najeem Folasayo Salaam](, at his polling unit during Saturday’s Osun governorship election.

Reports and videos obtained by P.M. NEWS indicated that the incident occurred at Ward 4, Polling Unit 13, in Ejigbo Local Government Area.

The incident has sparked allegations that the attackers attempted to assassinate the ADC candidate. P.M. NEWS has not independently established their identities or motive.

The attackers also allegedly disrupted voting, chased voters away and interfered with electoral materials at the polling unit.

Footage obtained by P.M. NEWS showed a vehicle with its windows smashed and glass scattered around the scene.

A man described as one of the suspected attackers was seen kneeling as security operatives swiftly moved in to contain the situation. He was subsequently reported to have been arrested.

It was not immediately clear whether anyone sustained injuries during the attack.

The police and INEC had yet to issue official statements on the incident at the time of filing this report.
