The Oluwo of Iwoland, Oba Abdulrosheed Adewale Akanbi, has fulfilled his civic responsibility by casting his vote in the ongoing Osun State governorship election, urging eligible citizens across the state to participate actively in the electoral process.

The monarch, who joined other voters to exercise his franchise, described voting as an important civic responsibility and encouraged all eligible citizens who had not yet voted to come out and perform their civic duty.

Oba Akanbi urged voters to remain peaceful, orderly and law-abiding throughout the electoral process, stressing the need for citizens to exercise their democratic rights without resorting to violence or actions capable of disrupting the election.

The Oluwo also called on voters to freely choose candidates of their choice, emphasizing that every citizen has the right to make an independent decision at the polling unit without intimidation, coercion or interference.

He further stressed that peaceful participation by voters and strict adherence to the rules of the electoral process were essential to ensuring a credible, successful and acceptable election in Osun State.

Oba Akanbi therefore appealed to all stakeholders, including political parties, candidates, security agencies, electoral officials and voters, to put the interest of the state above partisan considerations and ensure that the election is conducted peacefully and transparently.
