The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has congratulated Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke on his re-election, describing the victory as historic.

In two separate posts on X on Sunday, Keyamo joined other political figures in extending congratulations to Adeleke after the Independent National Electoral Commission declared him the winner of the Osun governorship election.

Keyamo also acknowledged the governor’s public endorsement of President Bola Tinubu’s bid for a second term in 2027. He stressed the importance of honouring political agreements.

He wrote: “Huge congratulations to Governor Ademola Adeleke on his historic victory in the governorship election in Osun State.“Thank you, Governor Ademola Adeleke, for the public and unequivocal endorsement of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu @officialABAT  for the 2027 Presidential Election. You are a man of integrity and honour. ‘Agreement is agreement.’”

The State Returning Officer, Prof Joshua Ogunwole, Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University, Oye-Ekiti, announced the results at about 7:24 am on Sunday.

Adeleke, the candidate of the Accord Party, polled 511,067 votes to defeat his closest rival, Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress, who scored 444,815 votes.

Keyamo’s message came against the backdrop of Adeleke’s earlier public support for Tinubu’s 2027 presidential ambition, with the minister emphasising that the understanding between the two should be respected.
