Trading activities on the floor of Nigerian Exchange on Monday opened on a negative note, depreciating by N106 billion as investors sustained profit taking in key sectors.
Market capitalization of listed equities declined by 0.07 per cent to N156.517 trillion from N156.623 trillion reported the previous day.
The NGX All Share Index also depreciated by 164.55 basis points to 242454.65 points from 242619.20 recorded the previous day
The market breath was negative with 18 advancers against 36 decliners bringing year to date return to 55.82 per cent .
Analysis of the trading showed that TransExpress led gainers table with 9.86 per cent to close at N3.12 per unit, AvaCap followed with a gain of 9.72 per cent to close at N7.90 per unit, Thomas Wyatt added 9.09 per cent to close at N3.00 per unit, Legend Internet gained 8.75 per cent to close at N4.35 per share, Dangote Sugar increased by 8.60 per cent to close at N70.10 per share.
On the contrary, RTBriscoe topped losers chart, dropping by 9.91 per cent to close at N10.45 per unit, FTGinsurance trailed with a loss of 9.89 per cent to close at N2.37 per share, Mcnichols dipped by 9.62 per cent to close at N4.70 per unit, UPL dipped by 9.35 per cent to close at N4.85 per share, NEM insurance declined by 8.85 per cent to close at N30.45 per share.
Volume of trades declined by 83.000 million shares, representing 5.87 per cent as investors traded 1.330 billion shares against 1.413 billion recorded the previous day.
Valued of transactions dipped by 49.39 per cent to settle at N22.937 billion.
Transactions in the shares of Lasaco Insurance led market activities with 730.689 million shares valued at N1.279 billion, Conhall Plc followed with 154.261 million shares cost N535.399 million, Chams Plc traded 25.293 million shares cost N108.352 million while FirstHoldco traded 25.028 million shares cost N3.427 billion
