THE Global Influence Continental Church, GICC, Lagos, will mark its fourth anniversary with a three-day celebration from August 21 to 23, featuring an all-night vigil, a workers and ministers conference and the Anniversary Thanksgiving Service.
The programme, themed “Great Is Thy Faithfulness,” is based on Lamentations 3:22–23 and will be held at the church auditorium in Ikate-Elegushi, Lekki in Lagos.
The major highlight of the celebration will be the launch of a ₦35 million fundraising campaign for the development of a Junior Church and Administrative Building.
The church stated that the project is its anniversary legacy initiative and is aimed at providing a suitable environment for children’s spiritual development while improving its administrative capacity as the ministry grows.
The celebration will begin on Friday, August 21, at 10 p.m. with an all-night vigil tagged “Night of Breakthrough.” The programme will feature prayer, praise and worship, preaching, deliverance and intercession for individuals, families, the church and the nation.
Apostle Rotimi Temituro of Zion Apostles Ministry, Lagos, will be the guest minister.
On Saturday, August 22, at 2 p.m., the church will hold the Workers and Ministers Conference themed “Making Full Proof of Your Ministry,” drawn from 2 Timothy 4:5.
According to the church, the conference will focus on equipping pastors, ministers, church workers and emerging Christian leaders for effective and sustainable ministry. Discussions will cover calling, character, spiritual resilience, evangelism and faithful Christian service.
The conference is open to ministers and church workers from GICC and other churches and ministries.
The anniversary will culminate on Sunday, August 23, with a thanksgiving service beginning at 10 a.m.
The service will feature praise and worship, testimonies, thanksgiving, preaching and prayers for a new season, alongside the formal presentation of the legacy project.
Pastor Tosin Oladapo, Senior Pastor of GOFAMINT Glory House, Dallas, Texas, will be the guest minister.
Speaking ahead of the celebration, GICC Global Lead Pastor, Rev. Sola Adebawo, stated that the anniversary is an opportunity to acknowledge what he described as God’s sustaining grace and prepare the church for its next phase.
“Our fourth anniversary is first and foremost a testimony to the faithfulness of God. Through every season, He has preserved the vision, strengthened the church and continued to transform lives,” Adebawo said.
He explained that the three-day programme has been structured around personal spiritual encounter, effective service and corporate thanksgiving.
“Friday night will be a time of prayer and spiritual encounter. Saturday will focus on equipping workers and ministers to fulfil their calling with faithfulness and excellence. On Sunday, we will gather as one family to return all the glory to God and enter a new season with renewed faith and expectation,” he said.
On the ₦35 million legacy project, Adebawo said the Junior Church would provide children with a safe and suitable environment to learn the Bible, develop their faith and discover their purpose.
“We want this anniversary to leave more than memories. Our children require a safe, suitable and inspiring environment in which they can learn God’s Word, grow in faith and discover their purpose,” he said.
He added that the administrative component of the project would provide the institutional support needed for the church to serve its members and wider community more effectively.
Adebawo said the church was seeking voluntary contributions from members, friends, partners and organisations that identified with the project.
“This is a legacy project. We are inviting individuals, families and partners to help us build for the next generation. Every contribution, irrespective of size, will bring us closer to creating an environment in which children can be nurtured spiritually and the work of the ministry can be administered more effectively,” he said.
The anniversary will be hosted by Rev. Sola Adebawo and Pastor Bukky Sola-Adebawo.
